Hares: Delaney, Earnest, Holland, Michlik and Siggers
· This year’s Weekend Run will be held in the vicinity of Kent Island, Maryland, the site of the first English settlement in Maryland. The Saturday run will be held at the Tuckahoe State Park and the Sunday run will be held at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. Dry shoes are a must!
· Hash Headquarters will be the Best Western Hotel on Kent Narrows. It is located at 3101 Main Street, Grasonville, MD 21638. 410-827-6767. Our contact person there is Michelle. They gave us a Hash House Harriers rate of $90 per night for 40 rooms. The Best Western is a 5 minute walk from The Jetty, site of the Friday and Saturday evening pub crawls. There are other hotels close, but all are much more expensive. Call and reserve your room right away.
· Directions (Allow about 45 minutes from the intersection of route 50E and the beltway).
· Take Route 50 East over the Bay Bridge to Exit 42.
· Turn right at the exit onto Main Street/Route 18.
· Go 0.25 miles to the Best Western on the right.
· Friday Pub Crawl at the Jetty <http://www.jettydockbar.com/>
· The Jetty is a five minute walk from the Best Western.
· Private “beach” venue with dancing to live music.
· The hares will buy the first keg at 1800 hours. Pay as you go after.
· Saturday Run: 1300 hours at the Tuckahoe State Park <http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/eastern/tuckahoe.html>.
· Allow about 30 minutes from the Best Western
· Turn left out of the Best Western parking lot onto Main Street/Route 18.
· Turn left after 0.25 miles onto 50E/301N.
· Follow 50E/301N for 4 miles to the 50/301 split.
· Stay left on 301N and go another 8.8 miles.
· Turn right at route 304 (there will be a Tuckahoe sign).
· Follow route 304 for 4.1 miles to route 481 at Ruthsburg.
· Turn right on route 481 and go 2.2 miles.
· Turn left on Crouse Mill Road.
· Bear left at the fork after 0.9 miles.
· Turn left into the picnic area 0.4 miles after the fork.
· Park and hash.
· Saturday Après at the park pavilion – Catered après washed down with craft beer following the run.
· Saturday On On On at The Jetty.
· Private “beach” venue with dancing to live music.
· Cash bar/menu food (if you haven’t eaten enough at the Après)
· Sunday Run – 1100 hours at the Chesapeake Environmental Center. 600 Discovery Lane, Grasonville MD. <http://www.bayrestoration.org/>
· Allow about 10 minutes from the Best Western.
· Come early and stroll through the grounds – Shore birds are abundant in April.
· Stay late and rent a canoe or kayak for $10 – all day.
· Directions from the Best Western.
· Turn left out of the parking lot and stay on route 18 for 1.9 miles.
· Shortly after the fire station on the right, turn right onto Perry Corner Road (sign says Perry COR road)
· Turn right in 0.4 miles onto Discovery Lane
· Follow Discovery Lane for 1.1 miles to parking area.
· Park and hash.
· Sunday Après at the park pavilion – Another catered après, washed down with more craft beer following the run and complemented by a Michael Delaney hand crafted fire.
